Welcome to the Impact Wisconsin peer resilience specialist training website! We are excited to provide you with the resources and support you need to become a peer resilience specialist.
We at Impact Wisconsin are thrilled to announce the launch of our latest initiative, the Peer Resiliency Support Specialist Training program. Designed to empower individuals with lived experience in substance use disorder and mental health recovery, this program is a beacon of hope and support for those on their journey towards well-being and self-directed living.
Understanding the critical role that peer support plays in the recovery process, our 40-hour hybrid training program aims to harness the power of shared experiences to foster a community of resilience and understanding. This initiative is especially close to our hearts, as it aligns with our mission to support and uplift individuals through their recovery process, acknowledging that recovery is a unique and personal journey with many paths.
Empowerment Through Education and Support
The training is meticulously designed for individuals recovering from substance use disorder or mental health problems, offering them a platform to not only further their own recovery but to also assist others in their journey. Our curriculum is rooted in the core values of empathy, diversity, self-awareness, and lifelong learning. We believe in the transformative power of education and support provided by those who have walked the path of recovery themselves.
A Comprehensive Curriculum for Future Specialists
Our curriculum covers four main domains: values, in-depth knowledge of recovery, roles and responsibilities of a certified peer specialist, and practical skills for peer support. Participants will engage in a mix of online learning and in-person workshops, focusing on critical areas such as the neuroscience of mental health and addiction, ethics and boundaries, crisis intervention, and effective communication. The training will culminate in a comprehensive examination, ensuring our graduates are well-equipped to make a significant impact in the lives of those they support.
If you or your organization is interested in receiving training from Impact Wisconsin, please fill out the form below and we will get in touch with you within the next 2 business days.
Thank you and welcome to the next stage of your peer support journey!
